ZR-1 Calibration equipment

This is close up of the equipment used by Lotus to develop the ECM calibration strategy used to command spark fuel and display numbers. In the ZR-1 this is stored on a chip (the blue 3 in thing laying on the top of the ECM) and plugged in to the ECM. The ECM here has been modified to accept 4 chips(EPROMS) that can be selected using dip switches. It was designed to be located behind the driver in the cargo area so it could be accessed from the driver/passenger seat. The long item is the display that was placed on the dash (velcroed) to the dash. It allowed the engineer to monitor the output in real time. Now we can use a laptop to do the same thing. It is one of 2. The stack of computer printout paper in the background is a readout of the calibration. The small device with the blue chip carrier on it is used to burn the calibration information onto the EPROM.
